1970 Dodge Challenger R/T V Code, 440 SIX PACK, 4spd, Super Track Pack!
This is the kind of classic Mopar everyone calls about. You want it all, 100% original drivetrain, all numbers matching, documented by original fender tag and the original broadcast sheet. But it might surprise you to know, those things aren't the first or even second points of consideration for most experienced collectors.
The first factor in what makes a car collectible is authenticity. Simply put, is it real? Yes, this Challenger R/T is a genuine “V” code big block, born with a 4-speed manual transmission and 4.10:1 Dana 60 Super Track Pack rear end. It is also a genuine Hi-Impact Plum Crazy Purple car with Rallye gauges, Console, Power Brakes, Power Steering, as well as, black Performance Hood and Longitudinal Sport side stripes. Which brings us to the second most important factor for most collectors, desirability.
It doesn't matter how original, how well documented, or how factory correct a car is if it isn't anything people want. In fact, if a real car is desirable and rare enough, cars have earned hundreds of thousands and even millions of dollars despite not having the original motor, factory documentation, extensive body panel replacement, or all three.
Fortunately, in this case, you are looking at a genuine SIX PACK Challenger R/T is very desirably optioned, is numbers matching, and factory documented. It shows only 500 miles on a complete "over the top" rotisserie restoration complete around 2004. It has been driven sparingly, well maintained, and stored in a climate-controlled garage. Overall, it shows as a solid #2, something that you can proudly to a regional or even national car show, and yet, not feel guilty about actually driving and enjoying.
Undercarriage is painted body color and finished same as the top. Documentation includes: Original Broadcast Sheet, Galen Govier Decode and restoration receipts.
