1929 Ford Model A "Metal Mistress" by Rodsmith!
When you buy a custom car, you are really buying the builder. His expertise, his experience, his accumulated skill as a fabricator, problem solver, mechanical engineer. That's it. On this 1929 Ford Model A Tudor, 40 years of hand forming fabrication knowhow is brought to bear. The entire body and chassis was left raw and simply clear coated to bear witness to the fabrication prowess of this craftsman. That builder is RodSmithCustoms.net of Grayslake, IL
If you haven't heard of Craig Rodsmith, its probably because you aren't paying attention to the custom motorcycle world. Several of his works grace the http://www.haasmotomuseum.com/, including a bike called "The Killer". Built from scratch, this Art Deco masterpiece of design and engineering with a three-cylinder engine embedded in the front wheel. Jay Leno is amongst his clientele. But Craig would probably hate the word “clientele” to begin with. He is as his work represents unpretentious, peerless skill, and brilliantly creative.
A different perspective. That is what you get when you ask a motorcycle builder to design an all-metal Model-A hot rod. You get an unobstructed view of spinning pullies and valve covers barreling head-on toward you. You get the frame, watertight, to carry the coolant from the rear mounted radiator to the engine bay. You get an open wheel car, Front Engine Dragster look. You get custom build everything, frame, instrument panel, handles, brackets, shifter, steering wheel, floor pans and a master crafted all steel body customized from a genuine 1929 Ford Model A. You get, his Metal Mistress.
Engine/Drivetrain
Most of these things you see get a 350 based stroker or “383” small block. No here, the Metal Mistress is rockin' classic 409 on the outside and maxed out, modernized internals.
