1970 Plymouth 'Cuda HEMI, Concours Restored.
Seldom have we seen a Hemi 'Cuda show such factory correct detail and originality. And we've seen a lot of HEMI 'Cudas. This example was restored by Roger Gibson and Frank Badalson. If you don't recognize this team's name, then I will put it this way- they set the standard for OEM Concours restoration decades ago. Everyone else has been playing catch up ever since. As with all excellent restorations, this one began as an unrestored car that was excellent to begin with. The engine, transmission and rear are original. Engine and Transmission properly VIN stamped from the factory of course, as are the radiator support and cowl. The body panels are also original. The odometer reads a mere 14,000 miles, believed to be actual. The car is documented by its original broadcast sheet, its original fender tag, and Galen's Registry of course.
Roger likes to retain as many original components as possible, mindful that they must meet a standard cosmetic excellence to blend in seamlessly with restored and replacement parts. The dash, the front and rear door panels, kick panels, and console is all OEM factory original to the car. All of the vehicle glass is likewise factory original.
As excellent as the condition and accuracy of the restoration is, this 'Cuda is equally handsome and well appointed. The lines of the 'Cuda are a rare and beautiful thing, looking good in both Hi-Impact colors as well as rich earth tones, like this deep F8 Ivy Green Metallic. Combined with the argent accents, black interior, and black HEMI side stripe, this is car presents itself as a velvet glove over an iron fist. Far from being a Spartan affair, it is equipped with power brakes, and a highway friendly 3.23 final drive ratio. Interior appointments include Rallye Gauges, center console, light group, and even a tape player. Power, Provenance, and in nearly perfect condition, what else can you ask for?
If you are looking Concours correct car in Excellent condition, that is highly correct and original, with ample documentation, that you can drive when the mood strikes you, this is your opportunity. If this one slip by, let's just say, regret turns ivy green with envy.
