1971 Dodge Challenger R/T 440 SIX PACK 4-speed, 100% Numbers Matching!
This 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T V-code 440 SIX PACK 4-speed is finished in GB7 Dark Blue over Black with Black Stripes. Plymouth called it Evening Blue and in 1970, B7 was referred to as Jamaica Blue. GB7 is an increasingly popular color amongst Mopar Collectors. It is deeper and richer than B5's plastic toy tone. Of the 23,088 Dodge Challengers produced for 1971, only 127 V-Code 4-speed R/T's were made.
The car is 100% Numbers Matching, Original Drivetrain, as well as, all body numbers, including the Fender Tag. As for condition, it is a completely rotisserie restored car that has been driven and enjoyed on a limited basis.
EXTERIOR
The paint and body work are remarkable. According to the inspector, there were no significant blemishes or imperfections to note on the exterior body panels of the car. As one would expect from a recent restoration, all the body panels are gapped evenly and correctly. The glass is in excellent condition, bright trim surround is clean strait and fitting flush and uniformly. The doors latch and close easily with a one finger push.
INTERIOR
The interior is largely original. The dash, door cards, and interior rear quarter panels appear to be original. They show some wear and patina as compared to new. The most significant flaw is a hairline crack on dash from the center speaker opening, which is repairable without having to recover the entire dash pad. The front and rear covers appear fresh and new, as do the carpets.
The gauges, Rallye dash bezels, and switch gears are in likewise excellent condition. The three spoke Tuff wheel looks freshly wrapped. All accessories work, even the clock and radio. The rear speaker knob is a rarely seen option found in this stock original cabin.
ENGINE BAY
The stunning exterior paintwork aside, the engine bay is the strongest point of the car. The drivetrain was completely mechanically rebuilt during restoration. The look is factory stock original and correct. The exhaust manifolds and master cylinder, cast iron pieces, are beginning to oxidize as one would normally expect. That is just about the only area of opportunity for touch up. All the hoses and belts are corrected stamped and date coded. The valve covers are clean and crisp with none of the typical oil weeping so commonly found on these cars. The Edelbrock intake is present and accounted for, as are the 3x2 stack of Holley Carburetors. In true upscale Dodge fashion, this V-code is equipped with both Power Steering and Power Brakes.
CHASSIS
The undercarriage is finished in the correct color primer with body color overspray. The inspector notes that there is no evidence of frame damage or repair, and no evidence of rust repair or floor pan replacement. A custom bend high flow exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers feed into factory style resonators and tips. If you are looking for a perfect combination of “Concours correct” and “Show Quality Driven”, this car walks those two worlds wonderfully. If you want to take back to #1 trailer queen status, you can without too much heavy lifting. You want to drive and enjoy it without having the Factory Correct Crew looking down at you, just turn the key and go! Consider this car, Concours Driven.
DOC and VIN
The car is documented by its original fender tag, radiator support VIN, cowl VIN, dash VIN, and driver's door label. The engine and transmission are factory original, numbers matching units.

Restored ConcoursVehicle has usually been professionally restored to the current highest standard, using a combination of refurbished original parts, exact reproduction parts, and new old stock (NOS) parts. Attention to replicating factory fit, finishes, and marking details are paid attention to. Bare metal finishes may be mimicked with paints and coatings to prevent corrosion. Paint and body may exceed the quality produced by the factory.
