1969 Corvette Stingray 427/390hp, Silver over Gunmetal Grey, Original Engine.
This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette is a genuine 427/390hp Stingray. Cortez Silver over Gunmetal is a rare and desirable color combination, especially compared to boring black. The car has been frame-off restored, brought down to the gel coat and on back up. The video shows the headlights opening unevenly. The vacuum canisters have since been replaced with new units and they now work flawlessly. Everything else is fully operational, aside from the key warning buzzer- which is considered a benefit for most people.
The car is well optioned and perfect for Summer driving, T-Tops, tilt-telescoping steering wheel, power steering, power brakes, power windows, and the original working AM/FM radio. The restoration began with a clean, no-hit body and frame and was complete, frame-off, fiberglass to the gelcoat and back up. All the work is documented with a restoration book. Every component is new or rebuilt. The fiberglass nose was swapped out for one in better overall condition, and still retains all its factory bonding strips. The 427/390hp engine is original to the car. The M-21 close-ratio transmission is date coded late '68, but not original to the car. The 3.55:1 Posi rear-end is also original to the car. The carburetor, distributor, and radiator cooling tank are all original to the car and restored to factory new condition.
Previous owner history and paperwork goes back to the late 1970's. There is no factory documentation, yet, all of the body tags and body VIN stamps are intact and original to the car.
