LS2 Corvette Powered '57 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe, 450 hp 6-speed manual shift!

Too many times we see promising looking customs not pay off when it comes to driving performance. This beautiful Bel Air cashes every check the exhaust rumble writes with power and grace on the pavement. While riding in leather couch comfort, Dakota digital gauges dance to the sweet sound system and an arctic blast AC blows the summer heat wave away. Every detail communicates the workmanship of master builders. With over $150,000, it was built to actualize a vision, not to meet a price point. With only 500 miles since its body-off restoration, this '57 Chevy recently won the Award of Excellence during the York, Pennsylvania Goodguys car show. If you want a national show worthy custom, capable of a cross-country tour- look no further, you've found the ideal Tri-Five Restomod for your garage.

Excellent restorations begin with a solid foundation. This body-off-frame rotisserie restoration began as a clean, all steel Bel Air Sport Coupe. All the chrome components were restored to perfection. All the stainless body trim, soft-trim, and glass are all new. Tropical Turquoise and White two-tone accentuate the iconic tri-five body lines. Door gaps, panel fit, and finish- perfect.

The cabin flows with custom diamond stitched glove leather, from the bucket seats to the waterfall console and out to the trunk liner. Custom cut carpets complete the look. The cockpit is appointed with an all-digital Dakota Digital gauges and telematics. Command of the road comes courtesy of a custom steering wheel and Flaming River tilt column. If the sound of 450 horsepower through high flow exhaust isn't enough to keep your ears happy, the Restosound stereo system offers complete Bluetooth, MP3, and iPhone connectivity. And yes, the Air Conditioning blows ice cold.

All that style and comfort doesn't really mean much unless you have some thrust rumbling under the floorboards. The engine bay plays role of jewelry box to an LS2 Corvette 6.0L V8 making 450 horsepower. Ring Brothers hood hinges raise that Detroit steel hood. Color keyed covers are accented by polished aluminum everywhere. Dual-electric fans feed the BeCool 4-core radiator and Vintage Air condenser. Search all over under the hood for the battery. You won't find it. It's been relocated to the trunk. A deep breathing, aluminum polished Hammer style cold air intake takes up its place. Ceramic coated Hooker headers expel spend gasses from heads to the stainless-steel high-performance exhaust.

The double overdrive Tremec T-56 6-speed manual transmission puts all the power of that LS2 6.0L directly in your hand. A Hays twin-disc hydraulic clutch handles all the change management you can throw at it. The final drive is a 3.70:1 ratio with Posi and Moser Axles. So yes, this '57 Chevy can do the twist all night long. The handling package is equally competent. The fronts incorporate drop spindles and tubular A-arms. All four corners ride on QA1 coil-overs. Flaming River is an aptly named rack and pinion system because that is just what hot tarmac feels like as you wind through places like the Back of the Dragon in southwest Virginia.

Cutting through mountain passes in this Corvette powered '57 Chevy is like flying a jetfighter locomotive riding on rails. There is nothing subtle about it. Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes bring this entire power ballad to a complete stop, just so you can catch your breath.

“Pro-touring” seems too benign a word to describe what this car is. It is more like a Surf combat, cigar lounge, A-10 Tank Buster with a really good sound system and working AC. Hell Yeah, get it!

Excellent Plus
90%-96% of showroom condition. Exceptionally nice. May have slight wear on exterior and interior finishes but visible only under close inspection consistent with years of show detailing, climate controlled storage, enclosed transport, and indoor display. Most cars in this class are not driven more than a few miles per year.

Overall Originality

A mostly outwardly stock appearing car, usually restored with drivetrain and performance components upgrade with bolt-on performance enhancing parts. Could extend to a full drivetrain and suspension swap working within the constraints of the stock frame and sheet metal. These modifications are largely reversible without cutting or welding.
