1969 Pontiac Firebird, David Walden Collection, Multiple Concours Award Winner!
Exclusive offering from the David Walden Collection! This '69 Pontiac doesn't have a "screaming chicken" on the hood, obnoxious stripes, or ginormous front or rear spoilers. In the Pony Car segment, crowded by cartoony caricatures and “boy racer” vibes, the Firebird was the adult in the room. This example in Verdoro Green, evocative of British Racing, is accentuated by a black vinyl roof and Midnight Green interior. The burlwood patterned accent finishes give the classic "coke bottle" lines an upscale feel. The Ram Air 400 engine, mated to the heavy duty TH400 automatic transmission, makes a torquey 330 horsepower. Both are numbers matching and belived by the current owner to be original. The limited-slip 10 bolt rear, loaded with 3.90:1 gears, makes sure you feel every pony put to the pavement. The hood mounted tach, 14" Rally II wheels, and redline tires round out the all-American flair of this truly tasteful Poncho.
It's a crowd favorite as well, garnering several national level Concours trophies over the years. It earned the Award of Excellence at World of Wheels in 1993 and again in 2000. Other accolades include Pontiac Best of Class and Best of Show, and the Car Quest International Auto Show Winner. And its no wonder when you take a deeper look, even today it holds up. Concours details abound under the hood and the undercarriage.
The laundry list of NOS parts, includes but is not limited to:
• NOS AC Delco Oil Filter
• NOS T-3 Guide Headlights
• NOS Upper & Lower Radiator Hoses
• NOS Shock Absorbers
• NOS Antenna
• NOS Distributor Cap and Coil
• NOS Spark Plug Wires
• NOS Quarter Panels
• NOS 14-inch Rally Wheels
