'69 Dodge Charger R/T HEMI, 4-speed, Super Track Pack, "Come Get Me" Copper

Come Get Me, Copper - 1969 Dodge Charger R/T HEMI 4-speed Manual Super Track Pack

There have been plenty of cars claiming to be “King of the Hill” from the Muscle Car Era. But this 1969 Dodge Charger R/T equipped with its original 426 HEMI is no ghost story. The HEMI powered '69 Charger is Holy Grail for any serious Muscle Car collector, no matter if you are a Mopar fan, or not. Only 207 4-speeds were build, including Charger Daytona. For the investment collector, this example is the finest of them all. It is finished in T5 “Come Get Me” Copper over Saddle Tan hides and T3 Light Bronze accents, the same color combination as the iconic Wellborn Muscle Car Museum '69 Dodge Daytona HEMI 4-speed. It recently changed hands for $1.43 Million.

This was an ordered car, built to specifications in March of 1969, and sold new through Decker Dodge of Hawthorne, New Jersey. And this '69 Charger R/T is also certainly a high performer, 426 HEMI Engine, A833 4-speed Manual Transmission, all backed by the gold standard in rearends – a 4.10:1 Dana 60 Super Track Pack. Review the rest of the factory options, and the intent of the original owner becomes clear. 'Bumble Bee' stripe delete, black vinyl roof, tinted glass in all windows, color-keyed steel wheels wrapped in 15” Red lines, all say “Sleeper”.

Drift to the interior and you find the theme of elegant excellence continue. The original order sheet stayed away from the garish SE optics while piling on power options. A01 Light Group gained the occupants ignition light with time delay, map light, and lamp on reminder. Power windows made challenging the unsuspecting to your next street race a one finger affair. The R21 Solid State AM/FM Radio and R31 Rear Seat Speaker provided the victory soundtrack. The Sport Steering Wheel, Hood Mounted Turn Signals, and Locking Gas Cap round out the options that were both personally savvy and street smart.
The odometer currently reads 41,359 miles and is believed to be original. Judging from historical photos taken prior to restoration and during tear down, the car remained in very good condition its whole life. But as all who are in pursuit of perfection, “Very Good”, isn't good enough. We also know that the most excellent restorations begin with already remarkable examples. This is no exception.

In addition to the original Fender Tag, Advanced Dealer Shipping Notice, and extensive photo documentary of the restoration from initial tear down to final assembly, this Charger has also been treated to a hands-on review and Elite Level Wise Vehicle Inspection Report by MMC Detroit, in June of 2021. In summary, the report characterizes overall condition as 1.1, 1.0 being the highest possible score. Our own recent visual inspection performed during the cataloging of this vehicle confirms this finding. The car remains in stunning, Concours quality condition.

The Wise Report also confirms the following:

• Primary Body VIN is Number's Matching, consistent with known examples from this production period.
• Secondary Body VIN is Number's Matching, consistent with known examples from this production period.
• Engine VIN is Numbers Matching, consistent with known examples from this production period.
• Transmission VIN, consistent with known examples from this production period.
• It appears that all sheet-metal including body panels, floors, and chassis are original.

The best part? It's turn-key and road ready for the next unsuspecting red-light line up. If you've been looking long and hard for ultimate expression of a genuine HEMI powered Charger R/T, tall on looks and short on excuses, then stop. Come get some Copper.
